A structural steel beam frames into a column flange using double angles bolted to the beam web. The bottom flange of the beam is coped when required for erection with a specified maximum length and minimum clearance to the beam cope. The vertical bolt spacing is typical at three inches on center with designated end distances. The angles are positioned with specific setbacks from the face of the web depending on the angle size. A similar beam-to-beam connection detail is provided for comparison of dimensions and copes.
