The roof deck terminates at a steel stud wall, supported by a wide-flange beam. A Simpson SCB45.5 connector clip is attached to the steel studs using three stainless steel 0.157-inch diameter powder-actuated fasteners; if these fasteners do not fully seat into the steel, the clip must be welded. An edge angle is secured to the clip, with the roof deck bearing on the beam and edge angle. Bridging is provided for the wide-flange beam as specified in detail 1/S520, and the steel studs are sized per the structural elevations, schedule, or notes.
