A steel truss bearing connection is supported by a steel beam and column assembly with a seismic gap. The sliding bearing pad consists of a continuous Fabreeka PTFE/SBX bearing plate measuring one and one-half by fourteen inches, positioned above a ten gauge by fifteen inch carbon steel plate epoxy-bonded to the concrete pad, paired with a ten gauge by fourteen inch stainless steel plate and ten gauge by fourteen inch carbon steel plate. Vertical stiffeners and split pipe stiffeners are welded to match the truss vertical, utilizing quarter-inch and five-sixteenths fillet welds. A one-inch diameter pipe brace connects via a gusset plate with a one-eighth inch weld, while an L8x6x1/2 angle includes five-eighths inch diameter headed studs at twelve inches on center. Additional support features an HSS4x4x1/4 hollow structural section diagonal brace secured with five-sixteenths fillet welds and half-inch diameter erection bolts.
