A wide-flange beam or channel frames into an HSS column using a full-height single plate shear tab connection sized per schedule. A WT5x22.5 or WT7x26.5 shape, cut to fit, connects the beam flanges to the HSS column with unslotted holes and a "K" dimension per the AISC manual. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch are specified on two sides or three sides depending on the condition. The top of steel alignment accounts for elevation differences greater than three inches.
