An existing wide flange beam connects perpendicular to an existing concrete masonry unit wall. An HSS beam member runs parallel to the wall face and anchors to the CMU assembly using typical expansion bolts spaced six inches apart. The wide flange beam ties into the HSS member at its flange with welded or bolted connection details sized per plan. The outside face of the CMU wall remains continuous behind the steel framing assembly.
