A joist girder bears on a one-inch seat plate atop an HSS column, featuring a stabilizer plate welded on three sides with a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld. A vertical pipe penetrates the joint, passing through the gap with no slot at the holes. The connection is secured with bolts beneath the seat plate, and lateral bracing members frame into the column below.
