A structural stair stringer base plate bears upon a reinforced concrete slab on grade incorporating a thickened slab footing depression. The concrete slab is reinforced with three continuous number four bars and transverse number four bars spaced at sixteen inches on center. A vapor barrier is installed beneath the slab, with instructions to protect the barrier from punctures and reference architectural drawings for waterproofing requirements. The stair stringer connection is designated as a deferred submittal. Clearances include three-quarters of an inch at the top reinforcement and three inches of clearance at the bottom footing depression.
