The reinforced concrete slab features a thickened edge with a nine-inch by three-inch recess for a storefront or an alternative finish grade with asphalt concrete paving or concrete slab. A one-foot six-inch minimum depth is maintained below the finish grade with three inches of clear cover. Reinforcement consists of one number four bar top and bottom at the recess detail and two number four continuous bars at the standard slab edge, with additional reinforcement per the foundation plan.
