Cold-formed steel stud webs feature allowable punchouts with a maximum four-inch dimension and specific end distance clearances. When stud webs are notched or require infill, a solid plate matching the thickness of the stud is fastened using number eight self-drilling screws spaced at one inch on center with a three-quarter-inch edge distance. Locations where a stud is notched greater than fifty percent require an additional unnotched stud.
