An elevator rail support is anchored to a vertical laminated strand lumber timber column using a 3/8-inch by 7-inch by 8-inch plate secured with two bolts tightened finger-tight only with a 4-inch gauge. A 3/8-inch cap plate sits atop the timber post with typical 3/16-inch fillet welds. A structural steel beam connects above per plan, featuring full-depth shear connection plates per sheet S-505. A continuous 3/8-inch plate and a concrete slab with metal deck bear on the beam assembly.
