A reinforced concrete grade beam supports a slab at finish grade. The grade beam contains top and bottom longitudinal reinforcing bars, top and bottom added bars, and transverse stirrups sized per the structural schedule, with number five bars each face applied for depths greater than thirty inches. Two number four dowels spaced at sixteen inches on center with twelve-inch embedment extend from the grade beam into the slab. Reinforcing is extended into adjacent footings per typical grade beam details.
