A wide flange beam frames into a wide flange column with top and bottom flange connections welded directly to the column flange. Continuity plates are provided on each side of the column aligned with the beam flanges to transfer flange loads across the column web. Weld access holes are incorporated at the beam web and flange intersections to facilitate complete joint penetration welds. The assembly ties the framing members together to function as a structural drag strut.
