A wide-flange beam connects to the web of a shallower wide-flange girder using a bolted shear tab configuration. When the required number of bolts exceeds the capacity of a single vertical row, the maximum number of bolts is placed in the first row with the remainder balanced in a second row, requiring a minimum of two bolts in the second row. Bolts and shear tabs are sized according to typical wide-flange beam connection details.
