A wide flange beam or channel frames into a hollow structural section post or hanger using a continuous shear plate slotted through the column. Bolts and the shear tab size are determined per the non-moment beam connection schedule. A one-half-inch cap plate is welded to the top of the post where required, and quarter-inch fillet welds secure the connection.
