A typical second floor filler connection involves a continuous hollow structural section beam at an exterior overhang, sized per plan. A continuous four-by-four by one-quarter inch angle ledger is welded to the hollow structural section with a three-sixteenths inch weld at three inches on center. The six-inch cantilevered beam features a cut bottom flange and is welded to the hollow structural section with quarter-inch welds on the flange. Metal deck and standard structural beams are sized per plan and integrated above the column beyond.
