A continuous C300x31 channel frames the edge of the pit opening with six millimeter closure plates welded at each end. Two twelve millimeter diameter by one hundred millimeter long Nelson studs spaced at one thousand millimeters on center anchor the channel to the concrete slab. An L51x38x4.8 angle welded to the channel face provides grating support with location sized per plan. The entire assembly is hot dip galvanized after fabrication.
