The steel beam frames into the column web using a bolted shear tab welded to the column face, paired with top and bottom continuity plates matching the beam flanges. The shear tab thickness equals the beam web thickness plus one quarter of an inch. Continuity plates are welded to the column flanges with specified weld sizes and are omitted on one side if the dimension is less than three inches. Edge distances and bolt spacings follow AISC specifications with bolt sizes and counts sized per plan.
