A C12x20.7 landing beam bears on a 3/8" x 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" cap plate welded to a vertical steel column. A 3/8" x 3-1/2" x 9" connection plate is bolted to the web of the channel with two 3/4" diameter ASTM A325 bolts. Fillet welds of 1/4" size secure the plates and structural members at the joint interface.
