An HSS6x6 structural steel post supports an HSS6x4 structural steel beam at the top of a roof parapet, set to an elevation of 378'-3". A 3/8-inch thick cap plate is welded to the top of the assembly with a partial-joint-penetration groove weld. A 1/4-inch fillet weld secures the members where indicated as typical.
