A structural steel beam connects to a spandrel beam at an exterior solid wall utilizing a full-depth connection plate and a bolted web connection. A full-depth web stiffener is installed on the opposite side of the beam connection. A concrete slab on metal deck bears near the spandrel beam maintaining a one-inch clearance from the exterior wall framing. Cold-formed metal studs interface with the floor assembly, and additional connections are detailed for drift joints and ceiling integration.
