The edge of the existing slab on grade is chipped back to expose existing reinforcement with a continuous one-inch edge clearance. Number four adhesive dowels with six-inch embedment are placed at twelve inches on center into the existing edge. The new concrete slab on grade matches the thickness of the existing slab unless noted otherwise, and is reinforced with number four bars at twelve inches on center each way. Subgrade preparation is executed per standard slab on grade typical details.
