An hollow structural section beam frames into the flange of a wide flange beam using plates fitted on each side of the hollow structural section beam. A three-quarter-inch diameter threaded stud provides connection through the plates at a centerline offset of three inches, with a one-inch maximum clearance dimension to the wide flange beam face. Plates are welded on both sides with fillet welds. Additional weld symbols indicate connection details along the top and bottom of the fitted stiffener plates.
