Vertical hanger wires and splay bracing wires are secured to the bottom chord of an open web steel bar joist with a saddle tie having a double loop at the support. Hanger wires require three tight turns, while bracing wires require four tight turns. Splay wires must remain parallel to the joist and cannot be perpendicular to it. The maximum load permitted per hanger is fifty pounds.
