Metal deck openings from six inches up to thirteen inches in maximum diameter require angles on each side of the opening, secured with screws or welds and extending a minimum of three webs past each end. Holes from thirteen inches up to twenty-four inches maximum require hollow structural section members on each side of the opening, extending a minimum of three flutes past each end. Maximum adjacent webs are cut at two low flutes for smaller openings. Criteria for deck cutting prior to pour or after concrete curing are referenced in details 7 and 8 on sheet S6.02.
