An edge closure and reinforcement at an opening in a concrete-filled metal deck. The closure angles are formed by L2-1/2x2-1/2x3/16 structural steel angles extending beyond the opening on each end over three full uncut low flutes. Horizontal legs of the closures are tack welded and bear on the angles beyond the section, with welds specified as 1/8-inch fillet welds at 1-1/2-inch spacing in each low flute. Two number 4 reinforcing bars are provided within the assembly where beams occur adjacent to the sides of the opening.
