Angle bracing intersects a structural beam per plan at a common working point with a half-inch thick gusset plate. The bracing members connect to the gusset plate using four seven-eighths inch diameter bolts in standard holes on each side. The gusset plate is welded to the supporting beam with quarter-inch fillet welds. Minimum edge distances and standard spacing dimensions govern the bolt and plate layout.
