A wide flange beam connects to a shear plate using a quarter-inch Grade 50 steel web plate. The web plate is attached with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld on both sides and features a top flange cope as required. Eight one-half inch diameter bolts fasten the web plate in a four-by-two grid pattern. Dimensions indicate edge distances of one and three-quarters inches and four and one-half inches, with a three-inch vertical bolt spacing and five-inch horizontal spacing.
