A steel column connects to a steel base plate mounted on one and a half inches of non-shrink grout over a concrete blockout in the foundation wall. The base plate is secured with anchor bolts extending into the reinforced concrete foundation wall and footing assembly. A fillet weld of five-sixteenths inch size connects the column flange to the base plate. Exterior slab or grade transitions adjacent to the concrete wall below the column base.
