A construction joint in a concrete slab cast over a metal floor deck is located in the middle third of the span. The assembly features welded wire fabric and number 4 reinforcing bars at twelve inches on center with a one-inch concrete cover. The joint separates a first pour and a second pour with a roughened surface, tension splice lap bars, and overlapped welded wire fabric. Cast-in-place or expansion anchors are provided by the contractor for a maximum total load of six hundred pounds with a minimum spacing of four feet on center.
