This control joint in a concrete wall incorporates a one and one-half inch deep keyway that is one-third the width of the wall. A six-inch continuous polyvinyl chloride waterstop with a welded joint is required if the assembly is located in an exterior wall or basement. The joint maintains a minimum of two and one-half inches of concrete cover on either side of the keyway, with the waterstop requiring a minimum width of one-half inch. Reinforcing steel lap splices are to be provided in accordance with the general notes, and architectural reveals should be verified per the architectural drawings.
