An intersecting steel beam frames into a supporting beam using a structural tee section sized per plan. Full-height three-eighth-inch stiffener plates are welded to both sides of the web where required. For beam depths greater than ten inches, a three-eighth-inch shear plate is shaped to fit around the flange and bolted with similar connections. For beam depths ten inches or less, standard shear plates, bolts, and five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the assembly.
