Cold-formed steel stud bridging consists of a continuous bridging positioner running through the stud web punchouts. A clip angle measuring 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches by 16 gauge is attached at each stud and each bridging leg. Four number 10 screws are used in lieu of a weld. A one-eighth inch max typical gap is maintained, with a one-eighth inch fillet weld indicated. The bridging splice detail shows a four-inch lap fastened with two number 10 screws.
