Steel joists bear on a steel girder supporting a metal roof deck above. Two one-half-inch diameter A325 erection bolts are required at all joists spanning forty feet or more. A girder bottom chord brace is provided by the joist or girder supplier, located typically at the joist nearest the mid-span of the girder and as otherwise determined by the supplier.
