Concrete wall reinforcement at a thickness change requires an offset of six inches or less. Vertical reinforcement continues across the transition with a specified offset, maintaining a minimum of one and one-half inches and a maximum of four inches. Dowels match the size and spacing of the vertical reinforcement above. A vertical bar hooks at the top of the wall where a slab occurs.
