An existing concrete and steel deck assembly bears on a three-eighths-inch thick bent plate with a minimum two-inch deck bearing requirement. A three-eighths-inch thick plate connects to a structural steel beam per plan, aligned with the adjacent beam and shored underneath the existing deck. Reinforcing steel consists of number three bars at sixteen inches on center each way within the concrete infill. Full-depth partial-joint-penetration welds are specified typically, with an angle per detail nineteen on sheet S1.4.
