A steel column terminates at the roof deck with a one-half-inch closure plate capping the top. An L4 x 4 x 1/4 angle brace extends on each side at the deck bearing, running out to the nearest joist beam. The angles are welded to the steel column with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. Typical roof deck attachment to the angle is provided per structural drawings.
