A reinforced concrete column intersects a basement wall with specific vertical bar and tie configurations. Three number ten vertical reinforcing bars are provided each face, supplemented by an additional number eight bar at the wall junction. Number five ties conforming to ASTM A615 Grade 80 are spaced at four inches on center with alternating tie ends. The column has one and one-half inches of concrete clearance to the reinforcement.
