An open-web steel joist is reinforced with an additional diagonal web member consisting of a L2x2x3/16 inch minimum angle. This supplemental member is added to accommodate concentrated loads up to 100 pounds maximum applied at the joist top chord. Placement restrictions require maintaining a spacing greater than six inches from existing web members.
