Concrete slab reinforcement continues uninterrupted through the control joint over the steel deck. Reinforcement bar size depends on dimension D, using number three bars at twelve inches on center when D is less than or equal to two and one-half inches, number four bars at twelve inches on center when D is greater than two and one-half inches and less than or equal to four and three-quarter inches, and number five bars at twelve inches on center when D exceeds four and three-quarter inches.
