A typical concrete sump pit cast into a slab on grade, measuring two feet square by two feet deep with eight-inch thick walls and base reinforced with four number four bars each way. A galvanized steel grating rests in a steel angle frame embedded around the top perimeter of the pit with welded studs on all four sides. The slab on grade ties into the pit assembly as detailed per plan.
