Two steel beams frame into opposite sides of a supporting steel girder web using bolted shear tabs. When the beam depth difference exceeds one inch, a WT shape matches the flange width of the intersecting beam with a quarter-inch weld to the beam. For depth differences of one inch or less, standard shear tabs and bolted connections attach the beams directly to the girder. Bolt size, spacing, and edge distance follow AISC specifications. Backup plates are omitted from weld symbols for clarity.
