A three-quarter-inch diameter welded shear stud anchors into the top flange of a steel beam through the metal deck. The stud requires a minimum one-and-one-half-inch height after welding and a minimum one-half-inch cover above the top of the stud. Studs space equally along the beam span or segment unless noted otherwise, with exact quantities determined per plan.
