A drag plate connects to the web of a buckling-restrained braced frame column using four 1 1/8-inch-diameter A490 bolts and a splice plate sized to match the thickness and width of the drag plate below. Four additional SDS25600 screws pass through the drag plate and splice plate. The splice plate may be omitted at the contractor's option if a full-length drag plate is provided. Fillet welds of 5/16-inch size secure the connection to the column web.
