A mechanical screen post base connection frames into an HSS column and supporting beams. Concrete on metal deck bears on a WT shape sized per plan, connected with fillet welds specified as one-quarter inch with two-inch by eight-inch intermittent spacing. A bottom flange brace or beam connects to the HSS column using an L6x4x5/16 angle on each side with long-slotted holes and three-quarter inch diameter through-bolts centered at the HSS. A base plate is secured at the top of the HSS column as detailed on sheet Q/S5.10. At similar conditions, a 5/16 inch by 6 inch plate is provided on the far side of the HSS in lieu of the angle.
