A W12 steel column is welded to a one-inch-thick base plate with five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds at the flanges and web unless otherwise noted. The plate dimensions measure one foot four inches by one foot four inches with symmetric bolt spacing centered on the column axes. One-and-one-half-inch diameter grout holes are provided at the general contractor's option as required for grout installation to achieve full bearing.
