An elevator guide rail support tube is anchored to a wide flange structural steel beam and metal deck floor assembly. Connection angles measuring L6x3x3/8 are placed on each side of the support tube with thirteen-sixteenths by one-and-a-half-inch vertical slotted holes and secured with three-quarter-inch machine bolts hand tightened to allow movement. A bent plate sized per plan interfaces with the assembly, maintaining a one-inch minimum gap. A quarter-inch fillet weld secures the connection on three sides.
