A hollow structural section column is welded to a three-quarter-inch thick by ten-inch wide by one-foot ten-inch long base plate using quarter-inch fillet welds of varying lengths. The assembly is secured with ten three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts arranged in a symmetrical pattern around the perimeter of the plate. Bolt spacing dimensions are provided at one and one-half inches, four inches, and seven inches on center. The structural steel member size is sized per plan.
