A braced frame connection ties a drag member to a steel column flange at the foundation level. Grade 50 embed plates are positioned below the bottom reinforcing bars with anchor rods installed per the structural schedule. The drag member connects to the column flange using five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on both the near side and far side typical. Three spacer plates matching the thickness of the gusset plate are placed at quarter-points along the bay. Three-quarter-inch diameter by five-inch-long headed welded studs are spaced at two feet six inches on center with a maximum of six inches from each end unless otherwise noted.
