The steel handrail and guardrail assembly comprises an outer pipe top rail of 1-1/2 inch outer diameter by 0.12 inch wall thickness and a lower pipe of 1-1/2 inch outer diameter by 0.18 inch wall thickness. A 1/2 inch diameter bent rod connects the rail components. The support post mounts to a C12x30 channel stringer reinforced with a 3/8 inch thick full-height stiffener plate centered under the post. Fillet welds of 1/4 inch size secure the connection.
