A two-inch thick steel base plate supports a structural steel column and receives diagonal bracing through gusset plates that are a minimum of one-half inch thick. The assembly bears on a one-inch grout layer over the foundation. Dywidag anchor rods pass through the base plate with an eight-inch projection, secured at the embedded end with a single nut and no bearing plate.
